Chapter 3 was over 20 pages long, but I enjoyed it so much. The author has a great sense of humor. The main content was about the life of the top male chemist at the research institute where they work, and the story of how Elizabeth ended up there. It was disappointing to see that, even though women were highly capable, they couldn’t apply for major research fields, and the instances of sexual assault and other forms of discrimination were really unfortunate. Though that was probably the reality at the time, Elizabeth's resilience in overcoming such challenges was truly admirable. I have a feeling that these two are going to fall in love. Their connection started when Elizabeth went to borrow some beakers, and it was such a cute and fun part of the story. It seems like Calvin might involve Elizabeth in the research, and though both insist they will only work and not go on dates, the final lines, expressing that they secretly feel differently, were amusing.
