In this chapter, Pooh and Piglet embark on a fun but slightly nerve-wracking adventure when they find a set of paw prints in front of Pooh's house. At first, Pooh spots the tracks, and Piglet eagerly joins him in investigating. They discover two identical paw prints, which make them wonder what kind of animal could have made them. As they follow the trail, they encounter a new set of tracks, which excites them even more as they imagine the creature behind them.
Their excitement grows as they find four paw prints in total, but their excitement quickly turns to fear. They begin to worry that the tracks belong to a dangerous animal, and they fear for their safety. In a panic, Piglet comes up with a number of excuses to run away, leaving Pooh behind.
To their surprise, it turns out that the tracks were not from a hostile creature at all. The two matching paw prints were Pooh's own, the third track was Piglet's, and the final track belonged to their friend Christopher Robin. The mystery of the paw prints is solved, and the friends are relieved to know that they were simply following their own tracks all along.
